The 28-year-old, who drove Group USA to its most memorable Olympic decoration in rugby sevens at the 2024 Paris Games, presented in a furious two-piece on the first page of the magazine’s computerized September issue.
Maher remained on what seemed, by all accounts, to be a dock with her hands behind her head, grinning and wearing a red lip concealer. In addition to the picture on the cover, Ilona Maher was also seen in other pictures in a royal blue string bikini.
In a meeting for the main story, Ilona Maher shared what rugby showed her herself.
“That’s what I love (rugby) showed me what I can do,” Ilona Maher told the distribution.
” It demonstrated to me that my body is capable and not just a tool to be examined and viewed objectively.
MJ Day, supervisor head of Sports Delineated Bathing suit, noticed her cover debut is a “festival of her athletic accomplishments” and makes for a “strong proclamation.”
“Ilona Maher is a current good example of solidarity, conviction, and credibility while simultaneously showing the unstoppable soul of a moving human,” Day said in the story. ” Her capacity to break obstructions, both on and off the field, resounds profoundly with ladies all over the place.”
He went on to say, “Ilona’s presence on our cover symbolizes a shift in the narrative — one that celebrates physical prowess as well as the courage to lead, inspire, and advocate for change.
” We were unable to feel more invigorated and propelled by this progressive competitor and women’s activist pioneer!”
Ilona Maher became a voice for female athletics, mental health, and humor before and during the Summer Games. She currently has more than six million followers across both Instagram and TikTok.
In addition, Maher has not shied away from criticizing the detractors on social media.
Ilona Maher retaliated against a commenter who stated that she had a BMI of 30 in a July TikTok video.
“I think you were attempting to cook me, however, this is a reality. I truly do have a BMI of 30 — all things considered, 29.3 to be more definite,” Maher shared on TikTok. ” I’ve been viewed as overweight my entire life.”
The Olympian common that she is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighs 200 pounds, the main two estimations used to work out BMI. According to the Cleveland Clinic, a BMI of 25 to 29.9 is considered “overweight,” while a BMI of 30 or higher is considered “obese.”
The Cleveland Facility takes note that the number is fairly restricted, however, and is known to be a wrong portrayal of well-being or strength, particularly for individuals like competitors who have more bulk.
About the commenter, she continued in the video, “I talked to my dietitian because I go off of facts and not just what pops up (in my head) like you.
” We talked about how the BMI scale doesn’t help athletes.
“BMI doesn’t let you know what I can do. Ilona Maher went on to say, “It doesn’t tell you what I do on the field or how fit I am.” It is merely a collection of a few numbers.
It doesn’t let you know the amount of muscle I possess or any such thing. No doubt about it I do have a BMI of 30. I’m viewed as overweight.”
Maher continued, “But alas, I’m going to the Olympics and you’re not,” in her final tirade against the online troll.
After her significant accomplishment for Group USA, beating Australia to bring back the country’s most memorable Olympic decoration in rugby sevens, Maher celebrated with a monstrous croissant. She shared a video of herself consuming the pastry on the Parisian streets on TikTok, which has since been viewed millions of times.
“Mmm,” Ilona Maher said in the clasp with her bronze decoration hanging from her neck, referring to the tremendous baked good as “a little treat, only something to get me rolling.”
